A cultural exchange called “Meet Vietnam 2009” was officially held on November 16 in San Francisco, California, the largest of its kind in the US so far. Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Truong Vinh Trong attended the opening ceremony of the event.
The cultural exchange aimed to portray Vietnam’s traditional culture to international friends and provide updated information about the Vietnamese community in the US. It also created a good venue for businesses from both countries to share information and seek out cooperation opportunities leading to boosting economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and the US.
The highlights of the event included a number of seminars on trade and investment promotion, tourism, education and information technology, arts programme and a photo exhibition.
